And enter the new black - a strength in decorating. Very popular overseas, we have seen a lot of charcoal and navy here but not much black, with the exception of featuring in the new wallpaper ranges. Not for everyone but it certainly makes a statement and is stunning with white accents.

Hi Judy - fab post on black. I'm just about to take a big leap of faith & order a black lacquer Asian-style sideboard to use as a table thingy for our new telly. MOTH's not convinced, but I'm absolutely certain it will be just right. So your post was very timely. Lovely to have another South Aussie blogger join our tiny, but mighty ranks!

In fact I have a few Asian pieces and always have had, they blend with all styles of decorating.
